Qatar SC crowned champions of the Qatar Cup after defeating Al-Duhail on penalties..

Al-Sadd Qatar were crowned champions of the Qatar Cup on Saturday after defeating Al-Duhail 4-3 on penalties following a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation and extra time in the final, held at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.

For Al-Sadd, Brazilian Claudinho opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute, while Spaniard Rafa Mújica added a second in the 86th minute. Al-Duhail responded with goals from Kenyan Michael Olunga (48') and Frenchman Benjamin Bouriego (65'), forcing the match into a shootout.

With this victory, Al-Sadd extended their record as the most successful team in the tournament's history, securing their fourth title after previous triumphs in the 2016-17, 2019-20, and 2020-21 seasons. Meanwhile, Al-Duhail remain second in the all-time standings with three titles, won in 2014-15, 2017-18, and 2022-23.
