On Sunday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani reviewed the final arrangements to receive delegations participating in the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad, ahead of the first preliminary meeting of senior officials from the Economic and Social Council.
The Iraqi Prime Minister's Office stated in a release that Al-Sudani visited the "Heart of the World" hotel in Baghdad—one of the designated accommodations for summit attendees—where he inspected conference halls, lobbies, and hospitality facilities equipped with premium services befitting Iraq's distinguished guests.
This follows the Prime Minister's inauguration two weeks ago of the "Mövenpick" Hotel in central Baghdad, which will also host a segment of summit delegations and serve as the venue for key meetings, including:
Senior officials' preparatory meetings for the Economic Council
Sessions of the Economic and Social Council
Gatherings of permanent representatives and high-ranking officials
The Iraqi government has completed all security preparations for the summit, implementing:
A nationwide ban on protests until May 20
Restrictions on motorcycle and truck traffic until May 18
Official work suspensions in Baghdad from May 15-18
Baghdad's streets are now adorned with flags of participating Arab nations and welcome banners, while traffic has been regulated on key routes leading to summit venues.
