The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Al-Budaiwi discussed developments in Yemen, particularly the humanitarian and living conditions, with the Yemeni Prime Minister, Salem bin Braik, on Thursday. The GCC Secretariat General said in a statement that this came during bin Braik's reception of the Secretary-General at the Yemeni embassy in Riyadh, where Al-Budaiwi congratulated him on his appointment as Prime Minister.During the meeting, Al-Badawi affirmed the GCC states' support for the Yemeni people under all circumstances, so that Yemen can restore its security and stability and place it on a path toward sustainable development, ensuring that the Yemeni people can live in dignity, peace, and security.He also reiterated the GCC countries' support for the efforts made by the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council to enhance security and stability in the country, and the GCC's commitment to supporting all international and regional efforts, including those of the United Nations, to reach a comprehensive political solution that ends the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the three references: the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue, and Security Council Resolution 2216.
