President of the European Commission Holds Talks with U.S. President on Middle East and Ukraine Developments..

 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Saturday that she held a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which they discussed a range of issues, primarily focusing on the current situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.

In a post on the social media platform X, von der Leyen described the call as "productive" and stated that it addressed "the tense geopolitical situation in the Middle East and the need for close coordination regarding its impact on global energy markets."

She added that she and President Trump also discussed developments in the Ukraine crisis, emphasizing "the necessity of reaching a ceasefire and maintaining pressure on Russia to end its aggression."

Additionally, von der Leyen noted that the two sides reviewed progress in ongoing EU-U.S. trade talks, reaffirming the European Union’s commitment to reaching "a good agreement by July 9."
