Turkey responds to allegations of targeting Druze in Syria..

The Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidency stated on Saturday that claims accusing Turkey of targeting the Druze community in Syria "do not reflect the truth."

A statement issued by the Directorate’s Center for Countering Disinformation noted that "provocative content has been systematically circulated by certain media outlets, falsely alleging that Turkey is targeting the Druze in Syria."

The statement emphasized that such claims constitute a clear disinformation campaign aimed at distorting Turkey's humanitarian-based foreign policy. It stressed that Turkey pursues a firm and principled foreign policy, seeking to protect regional peace and stability while upholding human rights and international law.

"Turkey, which consistently supports Syria’s political unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, has no place in its policies for ethnic, religious, or sectarian discrimination," the statement added. "The fundamental principle is the protection of human dignity and basic rights."

It highlighted that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has repeatedly affirmed in his statements on Turkey’s Syria policy that he categorically rejects discrimination based on ethnic or sectarian identities.

"This stance is not limited to words but has also guided all humanitarian aid efforts and diplomatic initiatives on the ground," the statement clarified.

Turkey has hosted forcibly displaced Syrians since the beginning of the crisis without discrimination, providing humanitarian aid and social support to all refugee groups.

"No Syrian community has been excluded—all have been treated equally, regardless of sect or ethnic identity," the statement continued.

It noted that "certain circles promoting these baseless accusations against Turkey aim to create chaos among sensitive demographic and religious groups in the region, running a black propaganda campaign driven by geopolitical interests."

The statement reaffirmed that Turkey remains resolutely committed to its responsibilities in promoting peace, stability, and social unity in the region.

It also underscored Turkey’s clear stance against separatist activities and sectarian conflict scenarios that threaten Syria’s political unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, stressing zero tolerance for such allegations.

The Center for Countering Disinformation called on the public not to consider suspicious and deliberately fabricated content, assuring that it continues to inform national and international audiences accurately based on facts.
