WhatsApp announces the suspension of its original application in the Windows system..

In a surprise move, Meta announced its intention to discontinue the original WhatsApp application in Windows, to replace it with a version based on the web interface, just a few months after the launch of the original WhatsApp application for iPads.

This change comes within the recent beta version of the WhatsApp application in Windows, as the company explained that it updated the form of WhatsApp beta work and the way it works.

In technical details, the update includes the transition of the application from the original WinUI to a closed version of WhatsApp Web, which leads to significant changes in the design and mechanism of displaying notifications, as well as a simpler settings interface than before.

The new version relies on Microsoft's WebView2 technology, which allows Meta to easily wrap the web version of WhatsApp in an office application.
