The British Prime Minister's Office announced on Tuesday that the United Kingdom and Egypt will establish a strategic partnership during Prime Minister Keir Starmer's visit to Cairo this autumn.
The Prime Minister's Office stated that Starmer and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will co-chair a joint investment summit bringing together leading British and Egyptian companies to create new mutual growth opportunities and strengthen economic ties.
The statement noted that both governments are committed to elevating bilateral relations to a strategic partnership level. This will enable them to enhance and formalize existing cooperation in alignment with shared priorities, including:

Irregular migration
Regional security
Addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza
The UK government emphasized its intention to build this strategic partnership with Egypt to promote prosperity and security for citizens of both nations.
