His Excellency Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait, Minister of Justice and Chairman of Kuwait's National Permanent Committee for Combating Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling, affirmed that "protecting individuals from human trafficking crimes is no longer optional but a national responsibility requiring year-round, coordinated institutional action."

In remarks to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Al-Sumait outlined Kuwait's comprehensive strategy:
