The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed on Wednesday the New York Declaration on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, adopted by the Saudi-French co-presidency of the international conference on this matter.
In an official statement, the Ministry described the declaration as "a historic turning point" that recognizes the State of Palestine, respects Palestinian rights, and paves the way for peace, security, stability, and an end to Israeli occupation aggression.
The statement appreciated participating countries' commitment to take "concrete, time-bound, and irreversible steps as soon as possible" to establish an independent, sovereign, and viable Palestinian state, with political and economic support in accordance with relevant UN resolutions and the Madrid principles, including "land for peace" and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The Ministry emphasized the international community's responsibility to:
Stop aggression against the Palestinian people
Ensure humanitarian aid reaches Gaza
Prevent famine
Cease hostilities across occupied Palestinian territory
Halt forced displacement
It praised countries' pledges to mobilize political and financial support, enabling the Palestinian government to assume its responsibilities in Gaza and the occupied territories, while backing the Arab-Islamic plan for Gaza's recovery and reconstruction.
The Ministry urged all conference participants and nations worldwide to join the declaration as a practical mechanism to:
Build international momentum for the two-state solution
Transform rhetoric into actionable commitments
Deliver tangible justice for Palestinian rights
Provide decisive international guarantees to end the Arab-Israeli conflict
