Dropbox has announced the suspension of its password management service, known as Dropbox Passwords, and called on users to transfer their data to alternative apps such as 1Password before next October.
The company will stop the service in phases, starting on August 28, as the service will be viewable only through the app on phones and browser extensions, which means that users will not be able to add or edit new information, and the autofill feature will be disabled on the same day.
On September 11, the Dropbox Passwords app on mobile phones will stop working completely, before the service is permanently removed on October 28, as Dropbox will block access to or add data, and all stored information permanently and securely deleted from the company's servers.
