The Saudi Arabian basketball team defeated their Jordanian counterparts 77-73 in a match held today, Thursday, as part of Group 3 of the 31st FIBA Asia Cup taking place in Jeddah.
In another match within the same group, China defeated India 100-69. Meanwhile, in Group 4 action, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) triumphed over Iraq 87-60, and New Zealand secured a win against the Philippines 94-86.
The tournament kicked off last Tuesday at King Abdullah Sports City Hall in Jeddah, featuring top teams from Asia and Oceania, with competitions running until the 17th of this month.
According to the tournament format, the group winners will advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the second and third-placed teams will compete in knockout matches to determine the remaining four quarterfinalists. The event will conclude with the semifinals and final.
