Civil Protection authorities announce wildfires in nine Algerian provinces..

The Algerian Civil Protection Authority announced on Tuesday that wildfires have broken out in the forests, brushlands, and thickets of nine Algerian provinces, resulting in significant material damage.

In a statement, the Civil Protection Authority attributed the cause of the fires to the high temperatures recorded over the past few days in many Algerian regions.

It clarified that "the largest number of fires was recorded in the province of Béjaïa, in the east of the country, with a total of 8 fires in forests, brushlands, and thickets."

It confirmed that firefighters, along with members of the Civil Protection Authority, are doing everything in their power to extinguish these fires.

The statement pointed out that "the Algerian Air Force has provided several aircraft in the provinces of (Tizi Ouzou) and (Béjaïa) to participate in the efforts to put out these fires, which broke out in rugged forested areas."

The Authority affirmed in its statement its "continued mobilization of all necessary human and material resources to combat these fires and protect the plant wealth."
