Samsung Electronics has announced new steps in the development of wearable technologies to enhance clinical health management, with a particular focus on heart and brain health.

The company revealed that its recent work includes smartwatches equipped with artificial intelligence algorithms capable of detecting the case of left systolic ventricular insufficiency (LVSD), which is one of the most prominent causes of heart failure and accounts for almost half of the cases, while the survival rate does not exceed 50%.Developed in collaboration with Medical AI, these algorithms are based on an approved medical-level electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis in more than 100 hospitals in Korea, and are used monthly on more than 120,000 patients. This collaboration resulted in the technology officially receiving approval from the Korea Food and Drug Authority.
