PS5 Power Saving Mode performance tests reveal how games can become playable on PS6 mobile..

Many gamers believe that the PS5's power-saving mode gives a glimpse into the future of gaming on upcoming PlayStations. While this may not look appealing on current-gen consoles, it could become a key feature in the upcoming PS6 mobile version.

Digital Foundry conducted a series of detailed tests on two games that support this mode, revealing the different approaches of developers to achieve the most efficient performance. In Demon s Souls, the power-saving mode was implemented with minor tweaks to the display settings. Instead of the usual two modes: 4K/30 fps (Cinematic) or 1440p/60 fps (Performance), Power Saving mode is the only option available, even on the PS5 Pro.

Footage on YouTube showed that the game often maintains a 1440p resolution at 30 fps, with some occasional slight performance drops.

In terms of power consumption, Digital Foundry has seen a drop of almost 50%, with power consumption dropping from around 200W to 100W on the PS5, with slightly higher efficiency on the Pro version.
