YouTube announced today that it has started using artificial intelligence to automatically improve the quality of low-resolution videos, i.e. those below 1080p resolution. Initially, the feature will upscale clips from SD to HD, and will later evolve to 4K resolution in the near future.

Currently, this feature is limited to TVs only, and whenever it is enabled, the Super Resolution tag will appear below the available resolution options. However, creators can turn off this feature if they don't want to use it.
