Kuwait Airways announced that it is currently working to gradually increase the number of its flights from Kuwait International Airport, Terminal 4, according to a phased operational plan that takes into account security requirements and ongoing coordination with relevant authorities, primarily the Ministry of Interior and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
The airline confirmed that current operations remain limited, with flights from Kuwait operating for only 8 to 10 hours daily, due to security and operational safety concerns. Transit flights to and from Kuwait remain suspended during this phase.
Kuwait Airways explained that the rescheduling of some flights during May is due to the transfer of operations from King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to Kuwait International Airport. The airline noted that several flights were previously scheduled and authorized to depart from Dammam, and this now requires obtaining new international approvals and permits to operate these flights directly from Kuwait.
The company emphasized that rescheduling does not mean a complete cancellation of travel, but rather aims to adjust flight schedules to comply with new permits and available operational capacity. It affirmed that every passenger with a booked ticket will be offered a flight as close as possible to their original booking date.
Kuwait Airways explained that passengers whose flights are affected by the rescheduling will have flexible options, including a full refund or retaining the ticket value as credit in their e-wallet for future bookings.
In response to increased travel demand, Kuwait Airways announced a gradual increase in the number of flights to the most popular destinations, most notably London, where the number of flights will increase from three per week to seven daily flights per week, prior to the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Kuwait Airways confirmed that its current plan focuses on balancing the needs of citizens and residents with maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational security until full operations gradually resume.
The company urged its customers to follow up on their reservations and make new bookings through the Kuwait Airways website and official application, or through the company's sales offices.
