The American technology company Google successfully discovered and fixed more security vulnerabilities in its Chrome web browser during June than it had in the previous two years combined, thanks to the use of artificial intelligence tools. Google stated that it patched 1,072 security vulnerabilities in the two latest versions of Chrome released in June, compared to 1,036 vulnerabilities fixed in the 23 versions the company released during the previous two years.TechCrunch, a technology-focused website, reported that since the emergence of artificial intelligence models, commonly known as "big language models," cybersecurity experts have warned that AI-powered tools will discover a huge and growing number of vulnerabilities in software and platforms, forcing developers and owners of these platforms and applications to also use AI tools to overcome hacking and intrusion attempts.
