Apple is preparing to expand its presence in the smart home market, after devices like the HomePod mini and Apple TV went years without major updates. The company's delay was believed to be linked to the development of Siri AI, but with the arrival of the next generation of the smart assistant, Apple appears closer to launching a range of new products.

Apple is expected to release the next generation of the HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K this fall.

The HomePod mini will receive an upgrade from the S5 chip to an S9 or newer chip, along with possible new colors, a new wireless chip, and possibly audio improvements.
