Strong Public Turnout at Kuwait's National Council for Culture Pavilion at Rabat International Book Fair..

The Kuwait National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) pavilion at the 30th Rabat International Publishing and Book Fair has become the event's most visited exhibit, attracting scholars, students and intellectuals drawn to its diverse publications spanning philosophy, literature, arts and creative works.

Since the fair's April 18 opening, visitors have rushed to acquire NCCAL's offerings - including books, studies, periodicals and translations - with most titles selling out within three days due to both their rich content and symbolic prices. NCCAL delegates Mohammad Darwish and Hussain Al-Mubarak told KUNA on Saturday that hundreds of titles across all knowledge disciplines had been exhausted by the event's third day.

Abdulhadi Dekkan, director of Casablanca's Hassani Cultural Center, noted during his pavilion visit that he annually seeks out NCCAL's affordably-priced, high-quality publications, thanking Kuwait for making literature accessible across Morocco and the Arab world. Professor Yassin Taif, another regular visitor, emphasized generations of Arab intellectuals owe their cultural formation to NCCAL's publications.

One visitor traveled from southern Morocco's Rashediya specifically seeking the Arabic translation of French novelist Thomas Bronk's "The Collapse," published in NCCAL's "World Creations" series.

NCCAL's distinguished participation features landmark Kuwaiti cultural publications including:

  • "World of Thought" philosophy series

  • "World of Knowledge" academic series

  • "World Creations" literary translations

  • "Global Culture" periodical

  • "Al-Arabi" magazine, the iconic Arabic publication

The Sharjah Emirate served as guest of honor at this year's edition, which hosted 51 countries and featured the "Symbol of Arab Culture" award ceremony by ALECSO. The 2023 award posthumously honored late Kuwaiti poet Ahmad Al-Adwani for enriching Arab cultural movements.
