The Kuwait-based International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) launched on Saturday the distribution of 100 hand tractors to small-scale farmers as part of its ongoing "Kuwait Stands By You" campaign, now in its tenth consecutive year.
Yemeni Officials Praise Kuwaiti Support
Yemen's Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Abdulmalik Obaid, commended Kuwait's qualitative and sustained support for the agricultural sector in liberated governorates during a press statement at the launch ceremony. He emphasized that this initiative would have a significant positive impact on small farmers in Socotra, an emerging governorate in need of agricultural development support.
Socotra's Deputy Governor, Raed Al-Juraibi, highlighted the importance of the initiative, noting its role in improving agricultural conditions on the island. He praised Kuwait's ongoing assistance and the Yemeni Ministry of Agriculture's efforts in implementing such impactful development projects to enhance farmers' livelihoods and boost production.

Imad Abdulrahim, Vice Chairman of the Tawasul Foundation for Human Development (the project's implementing partner), stated that the tractor distribution is part of the "Kuwait Stands By You" campaign, generously funded by IICO. The initiative aims to support small farmers, alleviate their hardships, and encourage increased agricultural output to promote self-sufficiency.
