Interior Minister tours Salmi and Abdali crossings, 19 northern border posts

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah has inspected the Salmi and Abdali border crossings along with 19 northern border security centers, reviewing security readiness and the progress of ongoing development projects.

The minister was accompanied by senior security officials from the Ministries of Interior and Defense.

At the northern border centers, Sheikh Fahd passed on the greetings and appreciation of Kuwait's political leadership to security personnel for their dedication in protecting the country and its borders. He toured the operations room, assessed preparedness levels and praised the discipline, vigilance and commitment of the personnel on duty.

Protecting Kuwait's borders, he said, is a national responsibility that demands constant vigilance and the highest level of readiness, adding that close coordination between military and security agencies is essential to the country's security and stability.

At Salmi, the minister reviewed construction and development works as well as preparations to receive fans traveling to watch the Saudi Super Cup matches, which Kuwait is set to host. He instructed officials to speed up the projects and tighten coordination among the relevant authorities so that all arrangements are in place.

At Abdali, he examined development projects and security preparedness, stressing the need to align infrastructure upgrades with security requirements, raise operational efficiency and keep entry and exit procedures running smoothly.

Sheikh Fahd described the land crossings as the country's first point of contact with visitors, underlining the importance of efficient services, swift procedures and adequate amenities for travelers. He also called for extra facilities and simplified procedures for Saudi Super Cup visitors, in keeping with Kuwait's tradition of hospitality.
